Often Wander’s California Element Candles are made with 100% natural soy wax, premium fragrance infused with essential oils, a BPA and lead free cork lid, and a crackling wooden wick in a 100% recycled glass container.

Clean and slow burning, these 9 ounce smooth and creamy soy candles have about a 65 hour burn time.

What to know about wooden wicks:

Our wooden wicks are: Eco-friendly, clean-burning, made from FSC Certified Wood. FSC = Forest Stewardship Council who are endorsed by Greenpeace. These wood wicks are hand-crafted and grown in the USA.

How to care for your wooden wick:

Keep your wick trimmed. Trim the wooden wick before your first burn to 1/4 inch. Candles come pre-trimmed (no need to trim for your first burn).

However, any burn after that, we suggest using candle wick trimmers to trim the wood wick to 1/4 inch again before re-lighting. If the wick is too long, it cannot absorb the wax and burn properly, and may result in a large flame which isn’t advised.

Trim your wick when relighting the 2nd burn, and make sure to remove all charred wood from previous burns.

Make sure to allow the wax to melt across the entire diameter of your candle on the first burn- this helps prevent tunneling or wasting wax on the sides of your candle.

If you are experiencing a “low flame” don’t stress. This can happen with a wooden wick from time to time, but stick it out. The wick will continue to burn and the flame height will return.
