burn your candles until there is about 1" of wax left in the bottom.

if you'd like, use a spoon, dish soap, and warm water to clean out the remaining wax and wick tab.

bring your empty, clean vessels to Simple and choose your refill scent. you're welcome to fill with the original or pick a new scent each time!

reed diffusers are a great way to add scent to a room for months at a time without the extra care that lit candles require.

hold onto the cap that comes on your diffuser bottle and bring it in with you when it's time to refill.

new diffuser reeds are $2 for a set of 8.

be sure to flip your reeds every couple of weeks for a boost of fragrance!

have a custom vessel to fill that isn't an often wander candle? drop off your empty, clean vessels at ian james!

we do have some custom vessel requirements to make sure your candle is safe to burn:

• must be able to hold liquid, so no holes (this includes items like teapots)
• minimum 2" wide opening
• should be approximately as wide at the mouth (top) is it is at the base (bottom)
• cannot exceed 5" tall
• has a flat, smooth surface area for the wick to stick properly
• must be made of glass, ceramic, aluminum, or brass
• is at least 4oz in volume (we will not pour anything smaller than this), and we do not do partial pours - expect to fill the entire vessel you provide

the shop assistant will note the fragrances you would like your candles filled with.

we will pick up your vessels and take them to our studio, where we will measure your them and create and send you an invoice.

the refill price will be $3/oz plus a $5 refill fee for each candle.

when we have received payment verification, we will then fill your candles. your candles will be available for pick up at Simple at the following drop off date.

if i purchase a sale candle, is my refill 1/2 of the sale price?

the refill price is always half of the original retail price of the chosen refilled scent. a $5 refill fee also applies to all candle refills.

what happens if my often wander vessel is damaged?

when you bring in your vessels for refills, we'll give them a quick once-over to make sure they're safe to continue using. if we find a crack or other damage that will impact the safety of the product, we can offer a replacement vessel for just $5.

why is there a $5 candle refill fee?

this small fee supports the time and resources needed to provide you with high-quality candles, while still keeping refills 50% off the original price. this fee applies to candle refills ONLY.

how long will my refill take?

depending on your drop off date, your refill could take anywhere from 2-4 weeks.

i can't pick up my refills - can you ship them to me?

yes! we know that plans change. we're happy to ship you any refills that you may not be able to pick up in-store.

shipping cost varies depending on how many refills you have, but is typically around $10 - $20. if your order is $100 or more, shipping is free!

if you'd like to have your refills shipped, please give us your email and mailing address, and we'll send you a shipping invoice. once paid, we'll get them in the mail straight to your door!

how should i pack my vessels for shipping?

you can use items you already have in your home! be sure to wrap your vessel(s) with padding like newspaper, then secure them in a box with enough padding that they cannot move around.

what if my often wander vessel is damaged during shipping?

if damaged on its way to us, we can replace it for $5. if your refill is damaged on its way back to you, contact us so we can make it right.

i can't make it to Simple to drop off - can i ship in my refills?
