CANDLE STUDIO ASSISTANT

Job Title:  Studio Assistant

Reporting to:  Business Owner

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Often Wander Studio Assistant is a highly efficient multi-tasker with excellent attention to detail. A skilled communicator who is reliable and can both learn and work quickly and accurately, while remaining organized. The ideal candidate will enjoy active work with their hands, and takes immense care in their work. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Prepares all raw materials to facilitate the candle production process.
  • Follow recipes and hand pour each individual candle.
  • Hand-labels candles.
  • Inspect each candle to ensure high quality.
  • Tracks inventory for all raw materials and finished products and alerts supervisor when stock is low.
  • Receives all material supply orders and intakes into inventory.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of the studio area and all storage spaces.
  • Manages candle refill program.
  • Performs any other tasks that may be associated with candle production.
  • May perform various other tasks as directed by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a tactile, creative hands-on environment preferred.
  • Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs boxes.

SALES ASSOCIATE

Job Title:  Sales Associate

Reporting to:  Store Manager

Schedule: Dependent on location, some evening and weekend availability required. Part-time opportunities may be accommodated.

Schedule Requirements:  Must be available weekends, holidays & month of December

JOB DESCRIPTION 

The Often Wander Sales Associate is an energetic, social butterfly with a high level of motivation and the desire to contribute and learn.

They are a team-player with the ability to be proactive, and assist with store effectiveness and functionality.

Daily tasks may vary, but ensuring high levels of warm hearted customer service and facilitating high quality customer experiences is the utmost important. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Works with Store Manager to set sales goals (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Ensures store is full stocked at all times 
  • Merchandising. Showcasing new inventories, creating suggested shopping moments, 
  • Track loss. (Theft, missing merchandise, broken items, etc)
  • Plant watering. Making sure plants are watered once a week, and maintained to keep them looking beautiful.
  • Creativity. This role requires creativity. Helping with creative projects, or having ideas is valued and required. 
  • Nurtures customer relationships. Identifies current and future customer needs by establishing rapport with returning and new customers and follow ups
  • Keeping store (front of house and back of house) organized and clean
  • Contributes to team effort by pitching in on daily duties when help is needed
  • Execution of various organizational projects, to be communicated by Store Manager. 
  • Facilitates Candle Refill Program. (Making sure we stay in contact with those who haven’t picked up their refills.)
  • Takes direction from Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of retail experience preferred.
  • Strong sales training and background highly preferred.

WHOLESALE SALES & OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Title:  Wholesale Sales & Operations Manager

Reporting to:  Business Owner

Hours:  Full Time; Monday - Friday

JOB DESCRIPTION

 The Often Wander Wholesale Sales & Operations manager is energetic, motivated and highly organized. They understand the wholesale business from end to end. A type-a individual with the ability to manage a wide breadth of wholesale-related responsibilities. They are a fantastic communicator who never forgets to follow-up with just the right touch. This role is a mix of sales, customer service, account management and operations oversight.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Responds to any wholesale inquiries received via various points of contact.
  • Initiates cold emails, calls, and other traditional sales initiatives.
  • Customer relationship management and key account management.
  • Ensures that customer orders go smoothly to production and shipping/logistics.
  • Coordinates with the Production Manager and the Studio Assistant to ensure fulfillment.
  • Creates order invoices in the accounting system. Follows up on late payments.
  • Executes tradeshow registration, preparation of materials, inventory, merchandizing planning. Full participation in set-up, sales, and tear-down at shows.
  • Manages email marketing and promotions for wholesale audience.
  • Coordinates yearly Linesheet updates / refresh
  • Maintains Stockist List and zip code protection list.
  • Provides any needed support for the sales of private label candles in coordination with the business owner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of sales / account management experience preferred.
  • Retail experience a plus.
  • Minimum Associates Degree preferred.
